Following public engagement meetings last year and a comprehensive bidding process, North West Reading NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has awarded ten-year contracts for the provision of GP services at Priory Avenue Surgery and Circuit Lane Surgery in Reading. Patients registered at either of the two practices will receive a letter by early June informing them of the change in provider. Click the links below to read the patient letter, or ask the reception team at your surgery for a copy.

Background to the new contracts

The new ten-year contracts for GP services at Priory Avenue and Circuit Lane follow a period of engagement with patients. Patient participation assisted us in developing a description of what we wanted and quality expectations for the new contracts . A thorough evaluation and selection process followed. The links below detail the key patient engagement activities and findings.

  • Leaflet shared with patients in September 2015 about the process to procure new contracts and inviting their feedback.
  • Copies of Our vision for developing GP primary care services in your area were given to patients at each surgery and shared online. The two leaflets were also made available in other languages.
  • 900 patients and members of the public gave their views on the two surgeries. Their views were collected via online and paper surveys, and also via Healthwatch volunteers present at each surgery during the engagement period.
  • This page summarises patient feedback and includes a link to the engagement report for each surgery.
